AFID began its activities in 2007 in Rwanda, led by its founder Neil Jennings, who left his position as Director of Robert Half International, the largest and oldest international accounting services consultancy in the world.
In September 2009, with the help of several small UK charities and five adventurous accountants, they began pilot assignments in Cambodia, Tanzania, and Malawi.
